Job Vacancy : Registered Nurse Maternal and New Born Health Program  (Ref: 58)

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered NGO first established in 1994. It is the largest indigenous provider of disability rehabilitation services in the country. CCBRT aims to empower people with disabilities and their families, improve their quality of life, and ensure access to medical and rehabilitative treatment. Committed to preventing disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) capacity building activities in Dar es Salaam and is currently constructing a large Maternal and Newborn referral hospital.


  • Duties to Include:   To provide high quality clinical Maternal and new born care services at a Dar es salaam Regional hospital supported by the MNCH program  and future MH 
  •  Strengthening referral pathways in the catchment area of CCBRT MH
  • Provides support to the CCBRT MNCH team and the MH team towards training of staff for the future MH. 
  • Conducts on-site training and promotes scientific problem solving
  • Support the facility quality improvement team and facility audit teams 
  • To ensure Implementation of standards of care and ensure high quality of care
  • Relationship management: Maintains the partnerships and collaboration with relevant stakeholders (health professionals & medical professional organisations and partners in the municipal and Regional offices.
  • Supporting the implementation of standard operating procedures 
  • Support the implementation of a perinatal data recording system and promoting perinatal audit meetings
  •  Act as a mentor to support service delivery  

Work Experience / Skills: 

  • Registered Nurse, or Bsc Nursing with clinical competencies in Emergency Obstetric Care, paediatric nursing, theatre nursing Prenatal Health Care, Women's Health Care 
  • Working experience in developing countries, preferably good knowledge and working experience in the Tanzanian health system  

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse preferably with degree in Nursing 
  • Previous experience of working in Maternity

Job Vacancy : Assistant Manager:Fistula 
 
CCBRT is coordinating an obstetric fistula programme which intends to treat all women with obstetric fistula in Tanzania.
The programme has two fold outcomes; improved health of women in Tanzania contributing to the achievement of Millennium Development Goals numbers 4 (Reduce Child Mortality) and 5(Improve Maternal Health) and the reintegration of women into their communities after surgery, which contributes to the achievement of Millennium Development Goal number 3(Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women).
CCBRT is seeking to internally recruit energetic and vibrant Assistant Manager Fistula Programme to fill the existing gap.

Responsibilities:

  •  Assist the Programme Manager in managing daily execution of programme activities 
  • Initiate and facilitate payments of funds request from satellite hospitals 
  • In collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation Officer ensure availability of relevant, quality and accurate data for all programme performance indicators 
  • Coordinate and oversee all call center activities 
  • Act as a Programme Manager in the absence of Programme Manager 
  • Provide assistance/guidance to the Programme Coordinator Field Works on organizing and conducting awareness creation meetings and training of Community Health Workers and Traditional Birth Attendants 
  • Lead the process of developing massages for TV and Radio campaigns that address myth and misconception on Obstetric Fistula to encourage more women to show up for treatment. 
  •   Manage fistula ambassadors referral networks throughout the country including their trainings and conferences
  •  Initiate all M-Pesa payments related to fistula patients travels to CCBRT and Satellite hospitals
  •  Perform any other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.  

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Humanities or Marketing 
  • Experienced in awareness creation and community engagements 
  • Proven track record of accurate record keeping of financial expenditures 
  • Computer literate in MS word, excel, access, power point and internet utilization 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  •  Knowledgeable in Tanzanian environment and culture 
  • Knowledgeable in Project Management functions 
  • Experienced in multi donor funded complex projects 
  • Able to work under pressure to meet required deadlines.

  • To provide high quality clinical paediatric care focus on sick new borns at a Dar es salaam Regional hospital 
  • Strengthening referral pathways in the catchment area of CCBRT MH 
  • Provide technical support to the CCBRT Capacity building team and the MH team towards training of staff for the future MH 
  • To ensure Implementation of standards of care and ensure high quality of care 
  • To implement and institutionalize perinatal, strengthen data recording system and promoting perinatal audit meetings 
  • Relationship management: Maintains the partnerships and collaboration with relevant stakeholders (health professionals & medical professional organisations; partners, suppliers, training facilities, colleges and governmental health departments). 
  • Supports the activities of the capacity building program. 
  • Act as a mentor to support service delivery 
  • Setting up and conducting on the job training programmes for newborn care in the neonatal unit/postnatal wards. 
  • Support the implementation of standard operating procedures for essential new born care, new born resuscitation, support implementation of kangaroo mother care and infection prevention practices. 
  • Support the establishment of clinical support systems for quality neonatal care.  

Work Experience / Skills: 
Working experience in developing countries, preferably good knowledge and working experience in the Tanzanian health system

Qualifications: 
Post graduate degree in paediatrics with interest in working with neonates.
MD. M.MED (Paed)-Any level of experience

  • MD. M.MED (Obstetrics / Gynaecology)-Any level of experience 
  • Certified  Obstetrics / Gynaecology Physician
